Wie alle Items fallen auch Waffen und Munitionsflaschen mit dem Start der Map erst einmal zu Boden. Um dies zu verhindern, w\u00e4hle zun\u00e4chst das von dir eingef\u00fcgte Waffen- oder Munitionsflaschen-Entity aus und \u00f6ffne den Entity-Inspektor, indem du die Taste N dr\u00fcckst. Erkennen tust du das z.B. an der Meldung <em>&#8220;ammo_nipper in solid at (-496.0 1496.0 1648.0)&#8221;<\/em> in der WoP-Konsole nach dem Start der Map. Die Konsole kannst du \u00fcber die Tastenkombination SHIFT + ESC \u00f6ffnen. Die drei angezeigten Zahlen geben die Koordinaten des jeweilige Entitys im Radiant wieder. Eine L\u00f6sung ist hier das Entity einfach etwas h\u00f6her oder mit mehr Abstand zum n\u00e4chsten Brush zu positionieren.<\/p>\n<h2>Waffenmarker einf\u00fcgen<\/h2>\n<p>Alle Punkte an denen Waffen in der Map erscheinen, werden in World of Padman mit einem sogenannten Waffenmarker gekennzeichnet. Es handelt sich dabei um ein kleines Mapobjekt bzw. Modell, das in verschiedenfarbigen Designs zur Verf\u00fcgung steht und bis WoP in der Version 1.2 manuell in den Maps platziert werden musste. Da in manchen Spielmodi, wie z.B. InstaPad, gar keine oder nur an ausgew\u00e4hlten Positionen, je nach Spielmodus, \u00fcberhaupt Waffen erscheinen sollen, st\u00f6ren dann die verbliebenen Waffenmarker.<\/p>\n<p>Daher werden seit WoP 1.5 die Waffenmarker direkt \u00fcber den Key <em>marker<\/em> im jeweils ausgew\u00e4hlten Waffen-Entity definiert. \u00d6ffne dazu wieder den Entity-Inspektor, indem du die Taste N dr\u00fcckst und im Key-Feld <em>marker<\/em> eingibst. Als Wert kannst du ins Value-Feld <em>orange<\/em>, <em>green<\/em>, <em>blue<\/em>, <em>black<\/em> oder <em>purple<\/em> eingeben und somit das Design festlegen. Der Marker erscheint dann automatisch am Spawnpunkt der Waffe, aber erst im Spiel, nicht im Radiant. Wir haben uns im WoP-Team darauf verst\u00e4ndigt, innerhalb einer Map stets nur ein Design zu w\u00e4hlen und eine Durchmischung zu vermeiden. Das ist manchmal bei kleinen Maps sinnvoll, wenn nur wenig Platz f\u00fcr alle Waffen oder weitere Items vorhanden ist. Dazu musst du die beiden gew\u00fcnschten Waffen in der Map an der selben Stelle platzieren. Es ist dabei egal, ob sich die Waffenmodelle dabei im Editor \u00fcberlappen. W\u00e4hle nun beide Waffen aus und \u00f6ffne wieder den Entity-Inspektor, indem du die Taste N dr\u00fcckst. Den von mir gew\u00e4hlten Wert <em>weaponcycle1<\/em> kannst du auch selbst definieren und irgendetwas daf\u00fcr eingeben. Wichtig ist nur, dass beide Entities den gleichen Wert erhalten und das er einmalig in der ganzen Map ist. Es reicht aus, wenn der Waffenmarker nur bei einem der beiden Waffen-Entites definiert ist. Wenn du alles richtig gemacht hast, sollten die beiden Waffen im Spiel nach dem Aufsammeln nun abwechselnd erscheinen. Willst du, dass sich beide Waffen in zuf\u00e4lliger Reihenfolge abwechseln, musst du im Entity-Inspektor bei <em>randomselect<\/em> ein H\u00e4ckchen setzen (spawnflags 2 wird gesetzt). Wenn also bei einem der Waffen im Team der Key <em>wait<\/em> auf -1 (einmaliges Erscheinen) gesetzt ist, wird die Rotation der im Team befindlichen Waffen nach Aufnahme dieser einen Waffe beendet.<\/p>\n<h2>Alle Keys und zugeh\u00f6rige Wertebereiche<\/h2>\n<p>Im folgenden gehe ich noch auf ein paar Keys und zugeh\u00f6rige Werte ein, die du auf die Waffen- und Munitionsflaschen-Entities anwenden kannst.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>angle<\/em>: Wie schon erw\u00e4hnt, kannst du damit das Entity um die Z-Achse drehen. Einzugeben ist ein Dezimalwert zwischen 0 und 360. Da sich die Waffen und Munitionsflaschen im Spiel eh die ganze Zeit von selbst um die Z-Achse drehen, kannst du damit eigentlich nur sinnvoll den Weaponmarker drehen. Definierst du <em>angle<\/em> nicht, ist der Standardwert 0.<\/li>\n<li><em>wait<\/em>: Damit kannst du, durch Eingabe eines Dezimalwertes, die Zeit in Sekunden definieren, nachdem das Entity wieder am Spawnpunkt erscheinen soll, nachdem es vom Spieler aufgesammelt wurde. Definierst du <em>wait<\/em> nicht, ist der Standardwert 5. Durch die Eingabe eines Wertes von -1, kannst du das erneute Erscheinen des Entitys verhindern. Es erscheint dann nur einmal in der Map und nach Aufnahme durch einen Spieler nie wieder.<\/li>\n<li><em>random<\/em>: Damit kannst du, durch Eingabe eines Dezimalwertes, einen Grenzwert f\u00fcr eine zuf\u00e4llige Zeitabweichung in Sekunden definieren. Dieser wird zur Berechnung einer minimalen und einer maximalen Zeitverz\u00f6gerung verwendet. Die endg\u00fcltige Zeitverz\u00f6gerung ist dann ein Zufallswert, der irgendwo zwischen dem minimalen Wert (= <em>wait<\/em> &#8211; <em>random<\/em>) und maximalen Wert (= <em>wait<\/em> + <em>random<\/em>) liegt. Dadurch l\u00e4sst sich das erneute Erscheinen des Entitys mit einer gewissen Zuf\u00e4lligkeit versehen und ist nicht mehr so leicht durch den ge\u00fcbten Spieler vorherzusagen. Definierst du <em>random<\/em> nicht, ist der Standardwert 0.<\/li>\n<li><em>count<\/em>: Damit kannst du, durch Eingabe eines ganzzahligen Wertes, die Munitionsmenge definieren, die dem Spieler bei der Aufnahme einer Waffe oder Munitionsflasche gegeben wird. Definierst du <em>count<\/em> nicht, ist der Standardwert abh\u00e4ngig von der jeweiligen Waffe oder Munitionsflasche. Die Standardwerte findest du in der Tabelle auf der jeweiligen <a href=\"https:\/\/worldofpadman.net\/about\/weapons\/\">Waffen-Seite<\/a> und in der Beschreibung eines jeden Entitys im Entity-Inspektor. Es gibt aber zwei Einschr\u00e4nkungen: Erstens, besitzt der Spieler die Waffe bereits und nimmt sie erneut auf, erh\u00f6ht sich die Munitionsmenge nur um 1. Zweitens, der Spieler kann nur maximal eine Munitionsmenge von 200 aufnehmen, au\u00dfer bei der iMPERiUS, da sind es 2 Sch\u00fcsse. In beiden F\u00e4llen werden die von dir definierten Werte f\u00fcr <em>count<\/em> in den Entities ignoriert.<\/li>\n<li><em>marker<\/em>: Wie schon erw\u00e4hnt, kannst du damit dem Waffen-Entity einen Waffenmarker in den bereits abgebildeten Designs zuordnen. Als Wert kannst du <em>orange, green, blue, black oder purple<\/em> eingeben, wobei du die Designs innerhalb deiner Map zwischen den Entities nicht wechseln solltest.<\/li>\n<li><em>team<\/em>: Wie schon beschrieben kannst du mit der Eingabe von <em>team<\/em> und einem beliebigen, eindeutigen Wert, mehrere Entities miteinander koppeln. Sie erscheinen dann in abwechselnder Reihenfolge, sofern <em>randomselect<\/em> nicht gesetzt wurde. Die Zeit, die eine Waffe im Team zum Wiedererscheinen ben\u00f6tigt, wird durch den Wert des Keys <em>wait<\/em> der zuvor aufgenommenen Waffe bestimmt. Wenn also bei einer der Waffen im Team der Key <em>wait<\/em> auf -1 (einmaliges Erscheinen) gesetzt ist, wird die Rotation der im Team befindlichen Waffen nach Aufnahme dieser einen Waffe beendet.<\/li>\n<li><em>target<\/em>: Die Aufnahme des Entitys funktioniert wie ein Schalter und l\u00f6st das durch den Key <em>target<\/em> als Wert definierte Ziel-Entity aus. Wie das genau funktioniert, wurde bereits im Tutorial <a href=\"https:\/\/worldofpadman.net\/tutorials\/handling-sound-effects\/\">Umgang mit Soundeffekten<\/a>, im &#8220;Abschnitt Soundeffekte mit Ausl\u00f6ser&#8221; beschrieben. Das funktioniert grunds\u00e4tzlich auch mit anderen Entities.<\/li>\n<li><em>targetname<\/em>: Das Entity target_give kann auf das Waffen- oder Munitionsflaschen-Entity mit dem Key <em>targetname<\/em> und dem entsprechenden Wert zeigen. \u00dcber einen Ausl\u00f6ser und das target_give kann einem Spieler die Waffe oder Munition direkt gegeben oder genommen werden. Diese M\u00f6glichkeit hat Viktor Karp in seinem <a href=\"https:\/\/victorkarp.wordpress.com\/2011\/09\/14\/27-dem-spieler-beim-spawn-oder-wahrend-des-spiels-items-geben\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tutorial 27<\/a> sehr gut beschrieben.<\/li>\n<li><em>gametype<\/em>: Damit kannst du gezielt entscheiden, in welchen Spielmodi das Entity erscheinen soll und in welchen nicht. Als Werte stehen dir <em>ffa<\/em> (Free For All), <em>tournament<\/em> (Tournament), <em>single<\/em> (Singleplayer), <em>spray<\/em> (Spray Your Color), <em>lps<\/em> (Last Pad Standing), <em>team<\/em> (Free For All Team), <em>ctl<\/em> (Capture The Lolly), <em>sptp<\/em> (Spray Your Color Team), <em>balloon<\/em> (Big Balloon) zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/li>\n<li><em>notfree<\/em>: Setzt du den Key <em>notfree<\/em> auf den Wert 1, wird das Entity nicht in den Spielmodi Free For All, Tournament und Spray Your Color erscheinen.<\/li>\n<li><em>notteam<\/em>: Setzt du den Key <em>notteam<\/em> auf den Wert 1, wird das Entity nicht in den Spielmodi Free For All Team, Spray Your Color Team und Big Balloon und Capture The Lolly erscheinen.<\/li>\n<li><em>notlps<\/em>: Setzt du den Key <em>notlps<\/em> auf den Wert 1, wird das Entity nicht im Spielmodus Last Pad Standing erscheinen.<\/li>\n<li><em>notsingle<\/em>: Setzt du den Key <em>notsingle<\/em> auf den Wert 1, wird das Entity nicht im Spielmodus Singleplayer erscheinen.<\/li>\n<li><em>notbot<\/em>: Setzt du den Key <em>notbot<\/em> auf den Wert 1, wird das Entity von den Bots ignoriert und nicht aufgesammelt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Hinweise zur Positionierung<\/h2>\n<p>Wie schon erw\u00e4hnt, brauchst du NiPPER und PUNCHY nicht extra deiner Map positionieren. Bei besonders gro\u00dfen Maps wie z.B. der TrashMap kann es schon einmal passieren, dass Waffen weit verstreut auseinander liegen. In so einem Fall solltest du \u00fcberlegen welche Waffen vielleicht mehrfach eingebaut werden k\u00f6nnten. In der TrashMap sind bis auf SPLASHER, BOASTER und iMPERiUS alle Waffen zweimal vorhanden, aber das ist wirklich schon ein Extremfall. Wo wir gerade von der \u00e4u\u00dferst m\u00e4chtigen iMPERiUS sprechen, diese Waffe geh\u00f6rt ordentlich versteckt und sollte nicht so leicht erreichbar sein. Ein Spawn-Intervall von 90 bis 120 Sekunden sollte nicht unterschritten werden. Oft befindet sich in unseren Maps noch eine Munitionsflasche f\u00fcr die iMPERiUS. Auch diese geh\u00f6rt, wie die Waffe selbst, ordentlich versteckt oder an einen schwer zug\u00e4nglichen Ort.<\/p>\n<p>Ansonsten kann jeder die Munitionsflaschen in seiner Map verteilen, wie er will und sicherlich gibt es ganz unterschiedliche und erfolgreiche Konzepte. Ich will an dieser Stelle nur einmal meine Methode vorstellen, die sich zumindest f\u00fcr die TrashMap ganz gut bew\u00e4hrt hat. Zuerst f\u00fcge ich von jedem Munitionstyp eine bestimmte Anzahl in Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe der Map an einer beliebigen und freien Stelle ein. In der TrashMap waren es 4 St\u00fcck je Waffetyp, wobei auch die Munition f\u00fcr die NiPPER nicht vergessen werden darf. Bei den doppelt vorhandenen Waffen f\u00fcge ich insgesamt eine Munitionsflasche pro Waffentyp zus\u00e4tzlich hinzu, in der TrashMap dann also 5 St\u00fcck. Aus diesem mehr oder minder \u00fcbersichtlichen Haufen an Munitionsflaschen kombiniere ich dann je drei miteinander. Diese Dreierkombination h\u00e4ngt immer von den Waffen ab, die sich in der N\u00e4he der vorgesehenen Position der Munitionsflasche befinden. Kompliziert wird das Ganze erst durch die dreidimensionale Verteilung der Waffen in der Map, durch zus\u00e4tzliche Teleporterwege und der hohen Anzahl an Kombinationsm\u00f6glichkeiten. Fehlt eine Waffe in der direkten Umgebung einer Munitionsflaschen-Dreierkombination, f\u00fcge ich als dritte stets eine NiPPER-Munitionsflasche ein. Nutze daher alle M\u00f6glichkeiten von Alfa- und Betatests, um deine Map in dieser Hinsicht von erfahrenen Spielern pr\u00fcfen zu lassen. Meist ist es doch so, dass der Leveldesigner besser im Erstellen der Map als im Spielen ist und daher auf die Erfahrung der Spieler nicht verzichten kann.In this tutorial I want to show you how to insert weapons, weapon markers and ammunition bottles into your map and how to adjust settings. But before you start you should make sure that you have installed the latest version of World of Padman. With older versions before WoP 1.5 especially the implementation of weapon markers in the way described here will not work. Furthermore, it can&#8217;t hurt to have a look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/worldofpadman.net\/about\/weapons\/\">weapons page<\/a> again, because there you will find all weapons of World of Padman with their default values clearly arranged.<\/p>\n<h2>Overview of weapons and ammunition bottles<\/h2>\n<p>In the following table you will find relevant weapons and ammunition bottles with their associated entity names in alphabetical order. The NiPPER is also listed there, although each player already has this weapon as a standard weapon automatically and does not need to collect it. It is therefore not very useful to position this weapon in your map, but the corresponding ammunition bottle should definitely find a place in your map. PUNCHY and iNJECTOR were deliberately omitted here, because the melee duck, in contrast to the gauntlet from Quake 3 Arena, is available to every player at any time. Like all items, weapons and ammo bottles fall to the ground when the map is started. To prevent this, first select the weapon or ammo bottle entity you have inserted and open the Entity Inspector by pressing the N key. You can recognize this by the message <em>&#8220;ammo_nipper in solid at (-496.0 1496.0 1648.0)&#8221;<\/em> in the WoP console after starting the map. You can open the console with the key combination SHIFT + ESC. The three displayed numbers represent the coordinates of the respective entity in the Radiant. A solution is to position the entity a little higher or with more distance to the next brush.<\/p>\n<h2>Insert weapon markers<\/h2>\n<p>All points where weapons appear on the map are marked in World of Padman with a so-called weapon marker. This is a small map object or model, which is available in different colored designs and had to be placed manually in the maps until WoP version 1.2. Since in some game types, such as InstaPad, no weapons are to appear at all or only at selected positions, depending on the game type, the remaining weapon markers will disturb.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, since WoP 1.5 the weapon markers are defined directly via the key <em>marker<\/em> in the selected weapon entity. Open the Entity Inspector again by pressing the N key and enter <em>marker<\/em> in the key field. As value you can enter <em>orange<\/em>, <em>green<\/em>, <em>blue<\/em>, <em>black<\/em> or <em>purple<\/em> in the value field and thus define the design. The marker will then automatically appear at the spawn point of the weapon, but only in the game, not in the Radiant. This is sometimes useful for small maps when there is only little space for all weapons or other items. Therefore you have to place the two desired weapons in the map at the same place. It does not matter if the weapon models overlap in the editor. Now select both weapons and open the Entity Inspector again by pressing the N key. You can also define the value <em>weaponcycle1<\/em> yourself and enter something for it. The only important thing is that both entities get the same value and that it is unique in the whole map. It is sufficient if the weapon marker is defined for only one of the two weapon entities. If you have done everything right, the two weapons in the game should now appear alternately after picking them up. If you want both weapons to alternate in random order, you have to check the box <em>randomselect<\/em> in the Entity Inspector (spawnflags 2 will be set). If a check mark has already been set for <em>suspended<\/em>, the value for spawnflags is automatically increased to 3. So if the key <em>wait<\/em> is set to -1 (single appearance) for one of the weapons in the team, the rotation of the weapons in the team will be stopped after this one weapon has been picked up.<\/p>\n<h2>All keys and associated value ranges<\/h2>\n<p>In the following I will go into some more keys and associated values that you can apply to the weapon and ammunition bottle entities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>angle<\/em>: As already mentioned, you can use it to rotate the entity around the Z-axis. The decimal value you enter is between 0 and 360, but since the weapons and ammunition bottles in the game rotate around the Z-axis by themselves the whole time anyway, you can only rotate the weapon marker sensibly. If you do not define <em>angle<\/em>, the default value is 0.<\/li>\n<li><em>wait<\/em>: This allows you to define, by entering a decimal value, the time in seconds after the entity should reappear at the spawn point after it has been picked up by the player. If you do not define <em>wait<\/em>, the default value is 5, but by entering a value of -1, you can prevent the entity from respawning. It will then only spawn once in the map and never again after being picked up by a player.<\/li>\n<li><em>random<\/em>: This allows you, by entering a decimal value, to define a limit for a random time deviation in seconds. This is used to calculate a minimum and a maximum time delay. The final time delay is then a random value that lies somewhere between the minimum value (= <em>wait<\/em> &#8211; <em>random<\/em>) and the maximum value (= <em>wait<\/em> + <em>random<\/em>). This way, the respawn of the entity can be given a certain randomness and is not so easy to predict by the experienced player. If you do not define <em>random<\/em>, the default value is 0.<\/li>\n<li><em>count<\/em>: This allows you to define, by entering an integer value, the amount of ammunition given to the player when he picks up a weapon or ammo bottle. If you do not define <em>count<\/em>, the default value depends on the particular weapon or ammunition bottle. The default values can be found in the table on the respective <a href=\"https:\/\/worldofpadman.net\/about\/weapons\/\">weapon page<\/a> and in the description of each entity in the Entity Inspector. However, there are two restrictions: First, if the player already owns the weapon and picks it up again, the amount of ammo will only increase by 1. Second, the player can only pick up a maximum of 200 ammo, except for the iMPERiUS, which has 2 shots. In both cases, the values you defined for <em>count<\/em> in the entities are ignored.<\/li>\n<li><em>marker<\/em>: As already mentioned, you can use it to assign a weapon marker to the weapon entity in the designs already shown. As value you can enter <em>orange<\/em>, <em>green<\/em>, <em>blue<\/em>, <em>black<\/em> or <em>purple<\/em>, but you should not change the designs within your map between the entities.<\/li>\n<li><em>team<\/em>: As already described, you can link several entities with each other by entering team and any unique value. They will then spawn in alternating order unless <em>randomselect<\/em> has been set. The time it takes for a weapon to respawn in the team is determined by the value of the key <em>wait<\/em> of the previously picked up weapon. So if the key <em>wait<\/em> of one of the weapons in the team is set to -1 (single appearance), the rotation of the weapons in the team will be stopped after this weapon has been picked up.<\/li>\n<li><em>target<\/em>: Picking up the entity works like a switch and triggers the target entity defined as value by the key <em>target<\/em>. How this works exactly has already been described in the tutorial <a href=\"https:\/\/worldofpadman.net\/tutorials\/handling-sound-effects\/\">Handling sound effects<\/a>, in the section &#8220;Sound effects with trigger&#8221;. This basically works with other entities as well.<\/li>\n<li><em>targetname<\/em>: The entity target_give can point to the weapon or ammunition bottle entity with the key <em>targetname<\/em> and the corresponding value. Using a trigger and the target_give, the weapon or ammunition can be given or taken directly to a player. Viktor Karp has described this possibility very well in his <a href=\"https:\/\/victorkarp.wordpress.com\/2011\/09\/14\/27-dem-spieler-beim-spawn-oder-wahrend-des-spiels-items-geben\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tutorial 27<\/a> (German only).<\/li>\n<li><em>gametype<\/em>: This allows you to decide specifically in which game types the entity should appear and in which not. The available values are<\/li>\n<li><em>ffa<\/em> (Free For All), <em>tournament<\/em> (Tournament), <em>single<\/em> (Singleplayer), <em>spray<\/em> (Spray Your Color), <em>lps<\/em> (Last Pad Standing), <em>team<\/em> (Free For All Team), <em>ctl<\/em> (Capture The Lolly), <em>sptp<\/em> (Spray Your Color Team), <em>balloon<\/em> (Big Balloon).<\/li>\n<li><em>notfree<\/em>: If you set the key <em>notfree<\/em> to the value 1, the entity will not appear in the game types Free For All, Tournament and Spray Your Color.<\/li>\n<li><em>notteam<\/em>: If you set the Key <em>notteam<\/em> to 1, the entity will not appear in the game types Free For All Team, Spray Your Color Team and Big Balloon and Capture The Lolly.<\/li>\n<li><em>notlps<\/em>: If you set the key <em>notlps<\/em> to the value 1, the entity will not appear in Last Pad Standing game type.<\/li>\n<li><em>notsingle<\/em>: If you set the key <em>notsingle<\/em> to the value 1, the entity will not appear in the game mode Single Player.<\/li>\n<li><em>notbot<\/em>: If you set the key <em>notbot<\/em> to the value 1, the entity is ignored by the bots and not picked up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Notes on placement<\/h2>\n<p>As already mentioned, you don&#8217;t need to place NiPPER and PUNCHY on your map. With especially large maps like the TrashMap it can happen that weapons are scattered far apart. In such a case you should consider which weapons could be installed more than once. In the TrashMap all weapons are present twice except SPLASHER, BOASTER and iMPERiUS, but that is really an extreme case. Speaking of the extremely powerful iMPERiUS, this weapon should be neatly hidden and should not be easily accessible. A spawn interval of 90 to 120 seconds should not be undercut. Our maps often contain a bottle of ammunition for the iMPERiUS. Like the weapon itself, this should also be neatly hidden or in a place that is difficult to access.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, everyone can distribute the ammunition bottles in his map as he wants and surely there are very different and successful concepts. At this point I just want to introduce my method, which at least for the TrashMap has worked quite well. First I insert a certain number of each type of ammunition depending on the size of the map at an arbitrary and free place. In the TrashMap there were 4 pieces of ammunition for each type of weapon, not to forget the ammunition for the NiPPER. For the double weapons I add an additional bottle of ammunition per weapon type, in the TrashMap I add 5 pieces. From this more or less clearly arranged pile of ammunition bottles I combine three of each. This combination of three always depends on the weapons which are near the intended position of the ammunition bottle. The whole thing gets complicated by the three-dimensional distribution of the weapons in the map, by additional teleporter paths and the high number of possible combinations. If a weapon is missing in the immediate area of an ammunition bottle triple combination, I always insert a NiPPER ammunition bottle as third.
