We have a little surprise for you at the end of the year. In the 20 years of World of PADMAN, many community maps have been created for our game. It’s a pity that they don’t get regular updates to keep them compatible with our game. With the further development of WoP, there may be changes from time to time, which of course also affect the community maps, e.g. with textures and sounds. Support for the new game modes will also be missing. Therefore, we have decided to bundle the community maps with the appropriate license into a MapPack and integrate it into our WoP repository on Github. This will allow us to make any necessary adjustments to the game itself at any time. In addition, the MapPack will be included as an installation option with every WoP release in the future, so that necessary updates can also be carried out.

To install, unzip the PK3 file contained in the ZIP file and move it to the wop subfolder of your World of PADMAN installation directory.
In the short time available, we managed to compile nine maps from three mappers that are now fully compatible with WoP 1.7. Hectic contributed six maps, but 3aTmE! and Blu have been busy as well. There are also smaller maps for FFA and LPS when there are fewer players on the server. There are also large maps for CTL and SYC, with lots of innovative ideas and attention to detail. Check out the image gallery for an overview.
In order to include a community map in the MapPack, we need appropriate licenses such as GPL, CC and WTFPL. Of course, we also need the MAP file so that we can make the necessary adjustments and corrections ourselves. Of course, you can still add your own customizations to our repository via Github using so-called pull requests. We will explain exactly how this works in a tutorial when the time comes. If you don’t want to do that, you can just send us the PK3 file and we will do it for you.
