3aTmE! is working on a new map

Some of you will certainly remember 3aTmE! well, as he is an old hand in the [PAD]Community. He already worked on several mod projects for World of Padman and is author of the maps Dead Simple and Coloor, which both run under WoP 1.6. The latter was created on a weekend in summer 2008 and was originally released for WoP 1.2. It was thought to have been lost, because some time later a power outage caused 3aTmE!’s computer and hard disk to become unusable. Thus, unfortunately, his last, at that time already far advanced map project, an impressive caravan (see screenshots), was lost. Even the spray room, a subway station, was almost finished. However, the only existing backup was not up-to-date enough and threw the project back too far. As a result he lost the desire to finish the map. But there was still hope for Coloor, because 3aTmE! found the original pk3 file on Ben’s server, which also contained the editable map file. He had forgotten this and so, thanks to Ben, he was able to release an updated version of Coloor for WoP 1.6 on September 1st, 2013.

 

In mid-March 3aTmE! posted a link in the editing channel of our Discord server, where he makes his unfinished mapping projects freely available to everyone. It contains some textures, sounds and four incomplete maps. Two of them are non-compiled map files and can therefore be edited directly. 3aTmE! makes these files available for free and does not require any crediting, which corresponds to Creative Commons Zero. Maybe one or the other can use or continue something of it.

But that shouldn’t be the last word, because two weeks ago 3aTmE! surprised us with a first screenshot of a new map for World of Padman. The project is called “Sinful” and is a remake of the multiplayer map SPRY (YouTube) from the 1998 shooter SiN, a real classic based on the Quake2 engine! It is supposed to be a loving homage to one of the first maps in Lilliput style ever and not only ENTE, who is a really big SiN fan, will be happy about that. Even if, according to 3aTmE!, the project is only slowly progressing at the moment, we are already very excited because of the screenshots that reached us yesterday evening!
